Hi, I’m Maria and Looking Glass is my personal style diary that serves to inspire petite (and not only) women to dress fearlessly.
Being petite has its challenges. It can be hard to find clothes that fit right and there seems to be a million rules about what we can and can’t wear. I believe that petites can pull off a lot more than they think – it’s just about finding the right fit. I share styling tips and items/brands that work on a petite frame (I’m 160cm/5’2).
I’m also here to promote petite pride, cheesy as it sounds. We live in a society that tells us that bigger is better, but I don’t agree. You don’t have to be as tall as a supermodel to be beautiful. Your height shouldn’t restrict you from anything (except for that really high shelf).
I think that clothing is much more than just what we wear and I try to reflect on that in my posts. I also believe that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look good. I put an emphasis on affordable fashion and restyling pieces already in your wardrobe.
I’m based in Vancouver, but you can also see my travels here. I live with my boyfriend and our dog Lady. I’ve been working in the fashion industry for over 5 years and studied fashion merchandising. In addition to Looking Glass, I’m a visual merchandiser and the fashion contributor for Aliholic.
